Hi everyone this is just a quick note for a few upcoming events I am involved with as well as to let you know that I have started a blog, which should be an easier way for me to post information on projects I am working on. The blog address is hollycarr.blogspot.com/
As some of you may know I am involved in a fairly high profile project here in Nova Scotia for Mental Health in conjunction with Festival of Trees. I have created 250 table runners that will be sold through the newly renovated Mills in Halifax. Each runner has two hand painted angels, one at either end. They are $150 each and $75 goes directly to Mental Health Nova Scotia, as well I have some of my original angel paintings on display at MillIs. In conjunction with this project I was asked to design art work for a Christmas ornament that will be used in a fund raising campaign for Mental Health. For each box of ornaments sold one ornament will be sent to a Canadian Military family. For more information about the ornaments go to: http://www.festivaloftreesns.ca/festival_angels.php
I will have a new selection of work on display at Maples Décor Gallery in Bedford Nova Scotia for more information go to: www.maplesdecorgallery.com
Lastly there is still some room left in a silk painting workshop that I will be giving at my studio this Saturday November 10th. The day will include breakfast, lunch and all of your materials. Beginners are welcome. This event is being organized by “Breakaway Broads” Margo Kerr and Ann Boswick, if you are interested please contact her at kerr@hfx.eastlink.ca or phone 902-479-3000. It will be a fun day.
This has been a great year, many memorable performances from being on stage at the National Art Centre with the Symphony directed by Boris Brott, to performing in a downpour under the big tent at the Atlantic Jazz Festival with Scott MacMillan and an ensemble of great jazz musicians. I have spent a lot of the year developing a children’s television show. It has gone through many changes and revisions, and it remains to be seen if it will come to fruition. In the mean time I am working on a live stage show for children that will be launched in the new year.
I think that’s enough to keep me busy.
